Our mission is to build our students into confident and capable individuals through the practice of martial arts. We strive to instill in our students a positive attitude, focused on self-improvement and discipline in order to foster respect for others and themselves. We are stronger together.
About Us
Forged Self Defense Academy is a martial arts school located in Rochester, New Hampshire. Forged is affiliated with Forged Krav Maga located in Salem, Massachusetts, and the same classes and systems are used at both schools. Forged teaches Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu courses to students of all abilities and ages.
Forged takes a modern approach to the most effective fighting and self-defense methods. Our curriculum and system is continuously evolving, and we offer progressive and dynamic training. We constantly test everything we do in order to ensure we offer the best training available for our students and affiliates. Over the years, we have trained with some of the world’s best instructors and have adopted practical self-defense methods that are efficient for people of all sizes and abilities.

Coach Matt
Coach Matt Spink, head instructor, has been teaching martial arts for twenty years and has studied martial arts for over thirty years.
Matt has spent this time studying Karate, Kickboxing, Boxing, Krav Maga, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Matt holds a fifth degree Karate black belt under the World Martial Arts Federation and a Krav Maga black belt. Matt has a passion for teaching, motivating and empowering others through martial arts.

Coach Ed
Coach Ed has been teaching martial arts for three years and has been studying martial arts for over twenty years.
Ed has extensive experience in Krav Maga, Kickboxing, and MMA. Coach Ed believes that martial arts are truly for everyone, and is passionate in teaching students how to embrace discipline both on and off the mats. He has first-hand knowledge that discipline, when learned and practiced consistently, leads to immense personal growth.
